Demolition by neglect — 402 Dousman Street

The owner's broker said progress is being made — contractors are reviewing window specs, a dumpster is being filled, and there are three serious buyers including one interested in a banquet-space connection to the former Chef Fusion restaurant. He asked for 60 more days, saying a demolition-by-neglect finding could hurt the building's marketability.

The property owner admitted the building has been neglected, explained setbacks including his architect's death and two failed contractor deals, and pledged a new window contract with installation by the end of August.

The owner's attorney introduced herself and helped get her client unmuted by phone to speak.
