American Red Cross Blood Donation Center
The Red Cross plans a blood donation center in a 3,500 sq. ft. space at 5005 S. 76th St., collecting blood and platelets only — no paid donations. It would add six full-time jobs and give residents a local donation site.
Spring Mall redevelopment advances
The city gave developer Mandell Group more runway on the long-awaited Spring Mall redevelopment, extending the construction deadline to April 30, 2027 because a merger slowed its fundraising. The developer says it's 70% of the way to raising equity and will remove asbestos and relocate utilities.
Digital billboards along the I-894 corridor
Two new digital billboards were approved along the freeway, but commissioners capped both at 75 feet instead of 80 and pushed for decorative, 'Welcome to Greenfield'-style designs. Billboard revenue supports the TID district funding projects like the turf complex.
Victory of Lamb church relocation to 4111 S. 108th St.
A 1,100-member Franklin church is moving into the old VICI Beauty School site. The commission creatively split the parcel so the flood-prone land near Cold Spring Road stays residential/parkland, protecting the neighborhood from commercial creep.
Residential objection — 2935 W. Bridge Street
Homeowner Michael Asad is challenging his assessment, citing a bank appraisal from July 2025. The board granted him a hearing at the October meeting so he can get a copy of the appraisal first.
Cobblestone Hotel at 84 South
A 62-room, four-story hotel with pool, fitness area and beer-and-wine bar is coming to the 84 South development between Aurora Medical and Steinhafels. Developer hopes to start construction this year and open by end of 2027, with rates averaging around $150/night.
Beloit Road townhome development and rezone
Two Beloit Road parcels were rezoned for multifamily housing, and the complained-about building will be demolished. A neighbor raised worries about traffic, poorly timed signals, dangerous intersections, and flooding/runoff.
Greenfield Veterinary Clinic Parking Expansion
The vet clinic on S. 27th St. will combine three lots to expand parking from 23 to 37 stalls, easing parking headaches for its growing business. WisDOT must approve work along S. 27th St.
Loomis Crossing and 84 South TID amendments
The council authorized the TID 6 and TID 8 amendments underpinning the Loomis Crossing development. The area's tax base has grown from $13 million to roughly $300 million, and a hotel may fill the last 84 South parcel — though no city funds are earmarked for it yet.
Burger Lab and Shawarma Lab restaurant at 4736 S. 76th St.
A new fast-casual restaurant is coming to the old American Mattress space, bringing jobs and a new dining option — but the site has long-neglected landscaping and a crumbling dumpster enclosure that must be fixed before it opens. Parking is also far below code, and the council will have to waive the shortage.
Game Together MKE expansion and Omega Plaza driveway repair
A popular used-game store doubles its space, but the shopping center's crumbling 108th Street driveway entrance finally has a fix-by date of November 1, 2026 — or the city steps in.
Valentin Studios permanent makeup studio at 4160 S. 108th St.
A one-person permanent makeup studio wants to open in an existing commercial suite. It needs a new special use permit and a public hearing in June.
W. St. Francis Ave. right-of-way discontinuance
The City plans to give up about 120 feet of leftover street right-of-way that was meant to extend St. Francis Avenue east. The land would be split between the two neighboring homeowners, who will pay for the survey work.
Turkish Kebab House restaurant at 5235 W. Loomis Rd.
A new Turkish kebab restaurant wants to open in the old service station building on Loomis Road. It needs a special use review and has to clean up outdoor storage and excess window signs before opening.
