4 issues in development with medium priority
Main Street facade renovations and commercial apartments
A full exterior facelift plus a second-floor apartment on a historic downtown block, with a rooftop terrace. Residents flagged dark-sky lighting and ADA access.
Second-floor addition on a legal nonconforming home
The Cardwells can add a full second floor to their pre-zoning house without changing its footprint — vertical expansions of legal nonconforming homes are allowed through the CUP process in the Estate Residential district.
415 Broad Street redevelopment concept
A tired old professional building across from BMO could become first-floor retail with six long-term apartments above. Commissioners like the idea but want masonry, a pitched-roof look, and a screened trash area before formal plans come back.
Symphony Bay Phase 8 Landscaping
The council added trees and a bush buffer back into the Symphony Bay Phase 8 plan over the developer's and Plan Commission's objection, after residents complained trees were being cut and promises broken. Staff will review the revised landscape plan.
